Charles H. Pippitt, 90, of Clearwater, passed away Sept. 24, 2015. Mr. Pippitt was born on January 9, 1925 in Trenton, NJ. He served in the Navy and was assigned to the USS McDermut. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Charles and the late Margaret Fritz Pippitt moved to Clearwater in 1960 where Charles worked for Reynolds Metals. When he retired he dedicated his time to his family, the McDermut Reunion Association and Navy veterans. He is survived by son, Charles, Jr. (Ann); daughter, Susan Reitmeyer (David); 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. A service will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater at 12pm noon on Saturday, October 03, 2015, followed by military honors and burial at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
