Dalila lived a life rooted in devotion—to her family, her traditions, and the simple joys that brought beauty to everyday living. She worked for many years in the laundry department at Hartford Hospital, where her strong work ethic and quiet dedication left a lasting impression. Outside of work, she found happiness tending to her yard, where flowers seemed to bloom endlessly under her care, reflecting her gentle and nurturing spirit.
She was a devoted animal lover, cherishing her cat, Samantha, and later embracing the companionship of family dogs who brought her comfort and renewed purpose in her later years. Dalila also expressed her love through cooking, preparing cherished Peruvian dishes for her beloved daughter Marcella and son-in-law Joe.
In her final eight years, Dalila created a treasured Sunday tradition—baking Joe’s favorite blueberry wheat muffins each week, a simple yet profound expression of her love. She also delighted in traveling to the family’s cabin in Georgia, always bringing along her magazines and knitting needles, finding peace in quiet moments and the rhythm of her hands at work.
Dalila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus Rosales, in 1994, as well as her brother, Tito Ramirez, and her parents, Alejandro Ramirez and Catalina Rios. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Marcella Rosales, who loved her with her whole heart and honored a promise that her mother would never be alone; her son-in-law, Joe Stagi; and her sister, Elba Whitney. She also leaves behind surviving family members in Peru, Connecticut, and Texas.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
