Darrell R. Collins

Darrell R. Collins, age 92, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was the youngest and last surviving of 7 siblings. He was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on October 31, 1930. He was married to Phyllis Nichols in 1951 and Esther Peticolas in 1961. Darrell worked as a medic in the Air Force, followed by a career as an electrician and had a passion for crossword puzzles, baseball and football. He was survived by daughter Beth Ann DeAngelo, son Russell Gordon Collins, daughter-in-law Marsha Baker Collins and son-in-law James Herman DeAngelo, grandchildren, Amie Jane Sangster, Marsha Lynn Collins, Julie Ann Guenot and Darrell Brian Collins. He was also survived by great grandchildren Andrew James Sangster, Zachary Michael Sangster, Ethan Brian Collins, Spencer Lee Collins and Emilee Jane Guenot. His son, Darrell Fountain Collins passed away in February, 2018. A visitation for Darrell will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759, followed by a funeral service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
