Despina Kouimanis

Despina Kouimanis, 87, of Palm Harbor, fell asleep in the Resurrected Lord while peacefully holding her daughter’s hand on Wednesday March 12, 2025. Born in Monessen PA, Despina moved to Buffalo, New York at an early age and met her husband Loukas Kouimanis. They were married right after she graduated as Salutatorian from High School in 1956. Louka and Despina shared 60 beautiful years of marriage and they settled in Florida in 1999. She is survived by 2 sons, Nicholas (Sonja) , Michael (Ergina) and one daughter, Velina Lucas Kouimanis;

They had seven grandchildren: granddaughters; Despina Bartos(Frank), Christina Yero (Jorge), Marissa Woods (Sean), Despina Bakris(Louis), Despina Kouimanis, Alexia Koumanis along with grandson, Loukas Kouimanis;

She had 5 great grandchildren; Juliana, Catalina and Viviana Yero, Warner Bartos and Luke Woods. She had many family members and friends who loved her. See was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater FL, The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society of Holy Trinity and the Chios Society of Florida before she became ill.

A funeral service will be held Friday March 21, 2025 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with a graveside service to follow at 12:30pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Despina's memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
