Dolores Marie Reifschneider Jordan November 17, 1928-January 27, 2017 The family of Dolores thanks you for your presence as we honor and celebrate our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother’s life. Today, we remember her long and happy life. Dolores passed with grace, dignity, peace and assurance of her salvation on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 88 years old in the presence of her family and the Lord at Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, FL. Dolores was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from high school in 1946 and attended one year of college at the University of Omaha where she met her husband Gene in chemistry class. They lived in Omaha until 1973 when they moved to St. Petersburg, Fl where Gene worked for the city. Several years later they moved to Clearwater and lived there until 2014 when both of them began to have health issues. They lived at Stratford Court Retirement Community in an independent apartment until last week. Gene passed away nearly 5 years ago and Dolores continued to enjoy the atmosphere of the retirement community. She made many new friends and enjoyed playing cards in the evening and some of the activities that are offered there. Dolores was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church for quite a few years. She always sat in the third row from the back on the right side of the nave. She enjoyed going out to breakfast every Sunday morning with her church friends. She served as an offering counter and baked many brownies for the bake sale table at the rummage sales. She was a faithful and cheerful giver to the congregation. She also served the community as an active participant in Guardian ad Litem. Dolores also enjoyed needle work and was generous with her time, teaching others and sharing her love of the arts. She painted some very nice oil paintings and was always ready for a social event or a Nebraska Foot ball game. She followed the Bucs faithfully and even wrote to the coaches as “the little old lady from across the bay” with tips on improving their game. Dolores and Gene raised a happy productive family, making sure we all had a good Christian foundation to guide our life’s decisions. She is survived by her three children, daughters Linda and Lisa and son Max. She leaves six grandchildren and 13 great grand-children, with one on the way. She always commented “look what we started!” Today we say good-bye to our nurturing mother. May she rest with the Lord knowing that her life was worthy and full of grace.
