Elsie graduated Wagner college on Staten Island, NY in 1950 where she met her husband of 47 years, Arthur Ellison Love Jr. She later received her MA in Education and taught Elementary, Jr. High, High School and College all on Staten Island and was featured on a PBS classroom special. She was a great source of education, creativity, laughter and much, much love. After teaching for 37 years, she went on to serve on the Wagner Board of Trustees, was a founding member of the Seahawks Touchdown Club and 2-year President (only female ever to hold that position) and was inducted into the Wagner Hall of Fame in 2002. Elsie loved to travel, whether it was with the Wagner team throughout the country, Europe, cruises or with husband Artie on the road as "Ma and Pa Kettle" at the wheel driving to Florida.
Elsie is survived by the thousands of lives she touched through her unwavering great Faith, generosity, enthusiasm, and zest for life. She would often wonder why God was keeping her here so long. The answer was quite obvious; she was the guiding star to many their whole lives and influenced and enriched the lives of all who knew her. Donations can be made to the Wagner Touchdown Club or St. Mark Village. Celebrate Elsie by having dessert, and don't forget the whipped cream... lots of it!
Memorial Service/ Celebration of Life to be announced.
