Evelyn R. Hepburn

Evelyn Rogers Hepburn, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022. She was 97 years old. Evelyn was born on April 4, 1924 in Kemp Bay South Andres, Bahamas to parents Issaac and Ellen Rogers. She grew up in Nassau, Bahamas and was the youngest of fourteen children.

As a child, Evelyn loved serving the lord and attending church. She became one of the founding members of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas. Years later she migrated to the United States where she called Clearwater, FL home. While living in the United States, Evelyn worked as a caretaker until retirement.

Evelyn was the matriarch of her family. She was the mother of five children. Despite her large family she always made time for everyone. She always provided love and support for her family. Evelyn’s greatest love was her family who affectionately called her, Mommy. Anyone who knew Mommy was touched by her kindness, wisdom and sense of humor. Mommy was loved greatly by her family and she will be deeply missed. Her family takes peace knowing she lived a full beautiful life.

Evelyn is predeceased by her son, Patrick Hepburn; grandson, Charles Hepburn and daughter-in-law, Jackie Gibson.

There will be a visitation held for Evelyn on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (1012 Pennsylvania Ave, Clearwater, FL). A funeral service will start at 11:00 am and procession will follow to committal at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
