Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.
Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman that fears the Lord is to be praised.
Mary Frances Humphries Booth, 93, went to be with her Lord on April 2, 2021, in the gentle caring comfort from the staff at Oakwood Center for Living in Bay Minette, AL. Throughout her life she was involved in every aspect of church fellowship and service by teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and planning and preparing for social outreach activities for the congregation.
There was no better cook in the world and her delicious meals and gatherings provided an example of southern hospitality inspiring the entire family. She loved to entertain, and always had an open table for anyone who wanted to stay for dinner!
Music was a great joy to Mary Frances, and she insured that all her children were involved in some form of musical training. Church of Christ congregational singing was her joy and as a result the entire family learned to harmonize well.
Frances was a faithful wife and companion to her husband of 71 years. Through all their trials, tragedies and triumphs they were committed to each other and stayed the course. She showered love and affection on her family, friends, and neighbors, exemplifying the transforming power of love.
In summary, our mother learned the secret of being content in any situation whether living in plenty or in want, and always prayerfully sought God’s will and direction. We will truly miss her presence, her laughter, and the joy she brought to our family, but the memories she helped us make will be with us forever.
