Born on July 29, 1930, in Greenville, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Roseanne Jane (née Hipps) and Marshall Adney Jennings.
Freda was a beloved wife, devoted mother, treasured sister, and loyal friend. She was a dedicated homemaker whose warmth filled every room she entered. With grace and kindness, she also worked in the hospitality industry as a waitress, where her gentle spirit touched many lives.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Freda lived her life with compassion, strength, and a generous heart.
She is now joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Samuel Lawrence Catlett, and her adored son, Geary Samuel Catlett.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Jane Catlett (Bob Gunderson) Ritchie ; sister, Margaret Murphy; brother-in-law, Bobby (Elsie) Catlett; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors & National Park Foundation in Freda’s memory.
A funeral service to celebrate Freda’s life will be held at 1pm on Thursday August 21, 2025 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior from 12pm until 1pm.
Following the service, she will be laid to rest with her family in the cemetery gardens.
Freda’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
