Frederic William Haeussler, age 82, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Fred graduated from Monroe Woodbury High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was married to Elizabeth Starr Shera Haeussler on June 8, 1964.

Fred had a career in financial consulting for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife). He received a civic achievement award from Metropolitan Life Communities Service in 1976. Additional awards and achievements: Boy Scout of America Award for service from 1982-2002, Jaycee Sparkplug award in 1991, multiple Group Leader awards from MetLife, Florham Park, NJ Board of Education, Florham Park Library Board and Metropolitan Life Volunteer Service Award. Fred served on the Florham Park Board of Education from 1976-1982 and took the office of President of the Florham Park Board of Education from 1980-1982. An avid patriot, Fred served as an artillery officer in the United States Army from 1962-1969. He had passions for education, history and bridge.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Starr Shera Haeussler, his daughters Chara Haeussler Bohan (Thomas Eugene Bohan), Melina Haeussler Byers (Don Allen Byers), and his son Frederic (Ric) Donald Gustave Haeussler and grandchildren Thomas Caleb Bohan, Chloe Adele Bohan, Brandon Allen Byers and Madeline Starr Byers.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Haeussler Corwin and his parents Gustave August Haeussler and Elsie Conrad Haeussler.

A visitation for Fred will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. A funeral service will occur on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 409 South Old Coachman Road, Clearwater, FL 33765. A committal service will occur on Friday, October 21, 2022, following Church Service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759.
