Gerald R. Peterson

Gerald R. Peterson, 74, of Clearwater,FL passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2016. Gerald was born in Tacoma, WA but was raised in Provo, UT. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard and gave thirty plus years of service. Our Father/husband was a hard worker who dedicated himself to his work so that his family could enjoy the things in Life that he couldn't. After retiring from the U. S. Coast Guard, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service where he also retired after several years of service. In all of his years we never once heard him complain about anything. Whether from dealing with the disease that would eventually take his life, to his battle with prostate cancer. He always had a smile and could turn any negative into a positive. He was caring, strict when necessary, loving in his quiet way and the best Dad/Husband you could ever ask for. He would not hesitate to help anyone if he could. He loved to work on cars, play on the computer, watch movies, or simply hang out with the family. He also loved fishing and riding motorcycles. The one thing that defined him most was his strength. He was a fighter to the end. Gerald, AKA Jerry, is survived by his loving wife LaVon, AKA Teddi, Peterson, Daughter Stacy Peterson, Son Johnny Peterson, Daughter in Law Donita Peterson as well as a granddaughter and great granddaughter. You will always be loved and never forgotten. Your journey may be over, but we know that we will be together again one day. You are always watching over us.
