Giancarlo was born March 23, 1938 in Padova, Italy. From an early age, Giancarlo could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He was an exceptional student, skipping several grades throughout the course of his education and always exceled at his studies. He was an avid soccer player and ran track-and-field.
After graduating from the University of Rome with his Ph.D in chemistry, he immigrated to the United States and received his post-doctorate degree at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. In 1966 Giancarlo married the love of his life, Mary Fumei, in Greenwich, CT.
He worked many years for Owens-Illinois and afterwards as a consultant for Gerro Plast, GmbH. Among his accomplishments are his many patents filed in the United States and also internationally.
Giancarlo is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons Marco (wife Michele) and Carlo (wife Katey); his daughters, Laura and Sandra (husband Lyle); his grandchildren Giancarlo, Elle, Mia, Simone, and Charlie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Fumei.
