On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Gloria Bernadette Fama, loving wife and mother of three sons, passed away at the age of 89. Known as Mama Fama to one and all, she was born on October 18, 1929 in Laurelton, Queens. Afterwards she moved with her family to Washington Place in Massapequa, New York where she fostered life-long friendships with The Piccininni’s and The Gandolfo’s. Gloria worked as a Floral Arranger at the little shop around the corner called Plant Tyme. Gloria is known for being a great cook, enjoying arts and crafts, and an avid pet lover. She loved butterflies, beautiful flowers, and those, tall, tall trees. A great listener and people lover, her door was always open for all who needed her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Fama. She is survived by her three sons, Anthony, Robert, and James, her grandsons, Geoffrey, Christopher, and Russell, her other children, Addy Fama, Matthew Clayton, Tony Tolbert, Helen and Phil Hollenstein and Joe and Barbra Ardolina, her sisters, Dolores Rizzuto and Annamarie Facciolo as well as many nieces and nephews and very special grand nieces and nephews, and her dog, Mimi.
