Bowman, Harold J. 97, of Dunedin, died August 12, 2016. He was born in Kingsport, TN and came to the Tampa Bay area in 1972 from Europe. He retired from the Army in 1971 as a Colonel. Between tours in the Army he worked as a Supervisor on highway construction in the great Smokey Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC and VA. He graduated from Italian Language course of the Defense Language Institute. He had a BS in general studies from the University of Maryland and a BSE and MSE from the University of South Florida. His awards include the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters and the bronze star with “V” devise. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nancy C Bowman. He is survived by his daughter, Diana J. Bowman of Dunedin.
