

Smitty was born on April 28, 1924 in Newport, NY. He passed at 96 yrs of age on December 6, 2020. Smitty is survived by his loving companion, 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his wife Mozelle and daughter Karen.
Smitty was a patriot. He joined the service the day after Pearl Harbor and was a veteran of World War II. He served in the US Army Air Corps where he was a crew chief on B-17 aircraft.
After the war he became a skilled glassman and businessman. He founded the business known today as Professional Glass, Inc. which is located in Thonotossassa, Fl.
He loved giving and helping family and people. He was very active in the Camel Patrol in the Shriners and helped raise money for the Children’s Hospital. He was a Mason Shriner and member of American Legion, Elks Club, Moose Club, and the Showman’s Club.
Smitty was a very outgoing person who personified being joyful about life. Even at 96 he went to the gym twice a week and would still drive his new GMC pickup.
In Lieu of flowers he has asked that donations be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital or the charity of your choice.
