Hope J Blackert

Hope attended Emory University and became a Majorette. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She then worked at Emory Hospital for 10 years and Clearwater Community Hospital for 27 years as the orthopedic head nurse and also worked in case management, retiring in 2000.

Hope was a Red Hat Society member and Queen of the Scarlett O'Hatters Club of Clearwater for 20 dedicated years. She enjoyed attending the red hat lunches. Hope also enjoyed going to the beach and growing orchids. She was very skilled at caring for orchids, and watching them bloom brought her joy.

Hope is survived by her loving husband; James Blackert, her children; Monique (Richard) Johnson, Margaret Massey Foltz, Rob (Cyndee) Blackert, Winston Massey, Tammy (Steven) DeAngelis, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Hope will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759 with a funeral service starting at noon. A graveside service will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
