Services set for 10am October 9, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Clearwater, Florida.
Mom was born in Tandragee, N. Ireland. She was the eldest of Samuel and Evelyn Clarke’s four daughters (Isabell, Gladys, Violet, and Mavie). She was the beloved wife of Harold (deceased) for 40 years, the cherished mother to David (deceased), Susan (deceased), and Donald, and was the much loved and adored grandmother to Leslie and Adrienne. In addition to tirelessly tending to her duties as a wife and mother of 3, Mom spent 25 years working as a ward secretary at the Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. Upon her retirement and relocation to Clearwater, Mom spent another 20 years working as a Volunteer at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. She was active in our church, First United Methodist, as a member of the Altar Guild. She was a proud member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization), which is an international women’s organization whose primary focus is to provide educational opportunities for female students worldwide. What was most important to Mom in her life was her Christian faith and her family and she was completely and totally devoted to both throughout her life. Mom loved the ocean and being outdoors. She raised a family, travelled the world, and spent her life in service to others. She lived her life with grace, class, courage and dignity, never failing to give the best of herself. Hers was a life well lived.
