Joan Mansmann Kamps

Joan Mansmann Kamps, 78, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on June 5th, 2025. Born on July 1st, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late H. Joseph and Helen Mansmann. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1964 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Northwestern University.

Joan dedicated over forty years of her life to working in clinical laboratories primarily as a microbiologist. Joan enjoyed reading, crafting, kayaking, and spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Kurt Kamps; her sister, Karen Mansmann; her daughter, Barbara Miller; her stepchildren, Christine (Sean) Herron and Kevin Kamps; her grandchildren, Alexandra and Katherine Miller; and her step-grandchildren, Matthew (Clare) Herron and Megan (Nick) Curren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Miller.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Largo Library Foundation (www.gllf.org) and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, causes important to Joan.
