Joan M Lindstrom

Joan was born in Muskegon, MI. on September 10th, 1934.

Joan grew up as the apple of her dad’s eye. She sang in church from childhood and played piano throughout her life. Joan began her first 30-yr career in the hospitality Industry. Her career peaked when she became a Lady Captain; it was said that she was the first in FL. In the early 1970’s, Joan was mentioned in an article featuring Diagostino’s Villa Nova as “A Very Competent Woman”, all while raising 4 children single-handedly. Joan’s second 30-yr career started as a dual property manager team, which became her alone after one year, caring for the 2-acre, 150-unit apartment complex as manager of Lindru Gardens Apartments in Clearwater. She loved her years at Lindru. It was truly her home with so many memories. Some of Joan’s favorite things was spending time on Clearwater Beach, visiting the mountains of VA, and her one summer- long trip on a sailboat to the Bahama’s.

Joan always said that her true love was Billy Wood. She adored her brother Norman and dad, Clarence. She gave her life for her children and loved them unconditionally. Words cannot express her deep love and affection for her 11 grandchildren. They were her world..

Throughout Joan’s life, she often helped others and would open her heart and home to them; Roger, Terri, Paulita, Robert, and Bill were all very dear to her.

Joan is survived by her children,

Sons; Tom King (Meghan), Gregory King, Roger Pollard, Daughters; Rebecca Markley (Jack) and Shannon Jarnagin (Jim Springstroh).

Her grandchildren; Steven, (Natalia) Tyler, (Kristin) & Michelle Markley, Michael (Kristen) & Morgan Ruel, Lily, Carly & Caroline King, Travis, Cody, & Brooke Vaujin.

Great-grandchildren; Violet, Cole, Madalyn, Connor, Zinnia, Parker and Nora.

Brother; Norman Lorenson and wife Joan.

Joan’s wishes, which will be honored, were to be cremated and laid to rest next to her dad in Whitehall MI.

A Celebration of Life will take place on November 6th 2021 at Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs, FL 5pm to Sunset.
