John "Big John" Slofkin

He was born in New York, New York on 8/24/1931.

John graduated from Hicksville High School, NY.

He was married to Jeanne on 7/27/1952.

John worked on Long Island, NY for Mid Island Rubbish and Grumman Aircraft.

He was a member of the Brentwood Fire Department.

He had a passion for fishing, cooking, collecting stamps, coins, baseball cards, football cards, playing bingo and Lotto. He also loved to tell his stories and antagonize his grandkids in the funniest of ways. He had a big heart and never thought twice to help anyone in need.

He was survived by his wife Jeanne, and his children: Linda (Slofkin) Solis, Johnny Slofkin and his wife Lynn, Patricia (Slofkin) Santonocito and her husband Mike, Cynthia (Slofkin) Guasp and her husband Richie, Susan (Slofkin) Beilein and her husband Todd & Timothy Slofkin and his wife Debbie.

He has 16 Grandchildren: Louis, Cynthia, Joanna, Tara, Erika, Anthony, Michael, Nicholas, Richard, David, Michael, Andrew, Bryan, Tiffany, Samantha & Chelsea

21 Great grandchildren: Blake (preceded in death), Justin, Abbey, Samantha, Anthony, Alyssa, Zachary, Carlos, Gabby, Zoey, Miles, Eli, Logan, Hayden, Abbey, Morgan, Emmy, Caitlyn, David, Bradley & Brittany.

Funeral Arrangement will be at 1:00pm, 1/31/22 at Sylvan Abbey.
