

John Vidalis was born December 20, 1932. He was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. John later joined the merchant marines where he served for 12 years. In 1959, John immigrated to the United States and joined his family in Detroit, Michigan.
After arriving in Detroit, he met his wife Chrisoula Condylis. They were married on January 10, 1960 and were later joined by their two children Angie and Nicholas. In 1971, the family moved to Clearwater, Florida where they worked and raised their two children. John spent his career as a painter and was a well known and loved member of his community. Above all, John dedicated his life to his faith and his family. He was an active member of his church, serving as a member of the board, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. John loved his Greek heritage, music, customs, and religion.
John died peacefully at age 89 in Clearwater on March 28, 2022. May his memory be eternal.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Chrisoula; two children, Angie (George) Rakes of Omaha, NE and Nicholas Vidalis of Clearwater, FL; two grandchildren Chrissie (Adam) Hoffman of Plymouth, MN and Pota (John) Nesiba of Denver, CO; two sibling, Voula Theoharou of Athens, Greece and Efstratios (Mary) Vidalis of Jackson, NJ; and five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in John’s memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
