

He was born on June 19, 1936 in East Rochester, PA the only child of the late Joseph F. and Anna Plevel.
Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, Joe excelled in sports, especially football. He became an All-Star player for Rochester High School and earned a football scholarship to the University of Miami, FL. Through hard work and desire, he rose from the ranks of freshman practice squad to Captain of the 1958 Hurricanes.
After graduating from Miami, Joe went to work for Fruehauf Corporation. Starting in Sales in Miami he advanced to Branch Manager in Jacksonville, FL and Charlotte, NC before ultimately serving as Regional Vice President in St. Louis, MO. Retiring from Fruehauf, Joe moved to Florida and eventually worked in real estate, establishing Plevel Realty. After a second retirement, he moved to Clearwater Beach, FL and resided at his beachfront home until his passing.
It is very difficult to adequately put into words the feelings that lie within our hearts, or with mere words properly recognize all that our father has meant to our family and to his friends throughout his lifetime.
May the perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in eternal peace.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife Eleanor Plevel (nee Toth); and, is survived by their four children, Sherril Plevel, Joseph Paul (Michelle) Plevel, Daniel (Blair) Plevel, and Kelly Plevel.
Also preceding him in death was second wife Janel Plevel (nee Morris). He is survived by her daughter Brandi (Josh) Millward and her sister Connie Fisher.
In addition to his children, Joe is survived by grandchildren, Jason (Liz) Mudd, Ashley Mudd, Joseph Patrick Plevel, Megan Plevel, Rachel Driggers, Bree Anna Stiglbauer, and Jonathan Plevel; and great grandchildren, Mason, Maci, Maddox, Briella, Hope, Austin and Solomon.
Also mourning his loss are Deborah (Terry) Sumner and close family friend, Chester Wilczek.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
Joseph will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with close family.
