

Mar Jo Tate Herron, age 93 passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Mar Jo was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 20, 1929 to Enoch Tate Jr and Ruby Bilbo Tate. She is survived by her sons; Gregory A. (Dr. Bernice Johnson) Herron and John Michael (girlfriend; Wendy Cleveland) Herron, daughters; Suzanne (Richard) MacArthur and Martha Jo (Kent) McWaters, granddaughters; Melissa Franklin DiCenzo, Kayla MacArthur, Sarah McWaters, and Shannon McWaters; grandson; Michael McWaters, great granddaughters; Natalie DiCenzo, Abigail DiCenzo, and Lillian DiCenzo. She is preceded in death by her husband; John Herron, whom she married on December 23, 1951.
Mar Jo was a registered nurse and studied at LSU and Duke University where she obtained her RN degree. Health and fitness were so important to her and she was very interested in alternative medicine for natural healing. She even attended a water aerobics class to keep fit.
Mar Jo was a kind person and a born caregiver. She knew no enemies and everyone she met became an instant friend. Mar Jo was a devout christian and dedicated her life to the Lord and her family. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and volunteering her help wherever she could at church and in her community. In her free time she loved cooking and the joy of sharing her meals with friends and family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought so much joy to her life.
Mar Jo was president HOA of Lake Seminole Village, she was a member of Church Universal and Triumphant and also a member of Rachero Village Chapel.
There will be a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at noon at Ranchero Village Chapel. 7100 Ulmerton Rd, Corral Clubhouse, Largo, FL 33771
