Margaret was born in Littleton, NH to Mabel and James McKenna. She was the second oldest and last surviving of five children. She attended Littleton High School, where she was honored in 2018 for being the oldest living graduate. Margaret met and fell in love with Allen Jarvis and they married in 1940. They were happily married for 61 years before Allen died in 2001. They had seven children. Their first child, Veronica, died before her second birthday. Margaret was adored by and inspired her children, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Margaret was a devoted mother and wife. She was involved in her children’s school parent organizations and was the one who always volunteered to make the pageant costume, run the bake sales and spent every Saturday driving nuns to a convent a few towns away. Through her example, she taught her children to be loving, caring, responsible adults.
Margaret celebrated her 100th birthday last year surrounded by all her loving children, a few nieces, and many friends. Margaret attributes her long happy life to three important things: Faith, Family and Friends.
