

Mark William Maconi, age 74, of Saint Petersburg, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1950 in St. Petersburg, Florida to John Maconi and Virginia Raisbeck Maconi. Both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Maconi, children, Michelle, Chris, Damon, Evan and Zoe, grandchildren, Amy, Nick, Luke, Regan, John, Nicolas, and Sebastian.
Mark enjoyed riding Harleys, singing, traveling, playing guitar, and flying airplanes. He was a very advanced pilot with thousands of hours. He loved to travel in the planes that he owned to the mountains in North Carolina, the Bahamas, and Key West.
In his youth, Mark performed in a band named The Ravens. They used to tour and open for other artists such as Neil Diamond, Sonny and Cher, The Who, and The Hollies. They performed their hit song, Calamity Jane, which was a number-one hit in Iowa.
Mark was very invested and talented in his career as a home builder. He loved to use his creative vision to design beautiful homes and developments. He was known as the top builder in the Tampa Bay area for many years. He served as the president of the Tampa Bay Builders Association and won multiple awards as Builder of the Year.
Mark was known and will always be remembered for his kindness, his giving personality, and his desire to put his family first and always help others. He loved spending time with his family traveling the country in his motor coach. Sometimes instead, flying the family to the Bahamas and to the mountains. He was well known for his amazing voice and musical abilities and loved to sing and play guitar with his daughter Zoe.
A memorial gathering for Mark will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, Florida 33759, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
