

Much loved mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother Myrtle “Peg” Robinson passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter holding her hand on January 21, 2016 at Brittany House in Long Beach, California, a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Peg was born and raised in North Creek, New York in the Adirondack Mountains to Alice Bates Bennett and Wesley Charles Bennett. She was active with The Cardinal yearbook including as Editor-in-Chief, and valedictorian of her college class of 1942 SUNY Plattsburgh. She and her husband of 45 years, William Robinson, raised four daughters in New Jersey and retired to Florida in 1978. She was active in many civic and community organizations wherever she lived, starting with her service to the USO and as a plane spotter during WWII in New York State, the Beacon Hill Club in New Jersey, and the Belleair Garden Club in Florida. She thought that the most fulfilling part of her life was raising her children. In 2000 she moved to Long Beach, California to be with her daughter and was active at the Long Beach Museum of Art and collaborated with her daughter in creative artwork. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her two sisters Iva and Eva and brothers-in-law Fred Kilbourne and Erwin Pelletier, her sisters-in-law Gertrude (Edmond) Etesse and Mary (William) Buhlman, niece Barbara Buhlman and nephew Paul Pelletier. She is survived by six nieces and nephews and their families, and daughters Sue Ann Robinson, Bonnie Robinson (James), Dana Robinson (Robert), Jill Robinson Wren (Christopher), grandson Chip William Scarinzi (Leah) and two great grand daughters. Her memorial service is on February 5 at 10 a.m. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759, where she is laid to rest with her husband.
