

NormaJean Infante went to Heaven on Thursday evening, January 18, 2024. She had been ill for several weeks and God decided it was her time. She was born on March 20th, 1934. She graduated at the head of her class from Chaney High School in Youngstown, Ohio in 1952. She later attended Youngstown State University where she received certification as a Medical Technologist. She then worked in the Youngstown medical system. She continued her medical career at various posts during her husband’s 30-year Army career
While working her way through College, she met her husband Don. They married on May 9th, 1959. 2nd Lt and Mrs Infante departed Youngstown in June 1959 for what they thought was a two-year Army tour. They would return to Fort Bliss in August 1985 when her husband assumed command of the Post as a Major General. She was the First Lady of the Post for over four years. They retired from the Army in August 1989 and her husband began a 16-year second career with the Raytheon Corporation. Her husband went to work for Raytheon selling the Patriot Air Defense System. He retired from Raytheon in 2012 and became a consultant. NormaJean as the head of the household continued working.
Between their 30-year career in the US Army and their 16-year career with Raytheon, they lived in over 31 homes. They retired to Clearwater, FL in 2002 and lived on the beach for 10 years. In 2012 they moved to the Regency Oaks Community. NormaJean and Don lived in Regency Oaks until her death.
They have two special needs children, Dean and Renee who live in Youngstown, Ohio, and reside in a separate home supervised by Gateways to Better Living. Their children have provided them with much happiness.
