Ralph H. Poole

"Ralph Howard Poole was born February 20, 1949 in Clearwater, FL. He attended local schools and graduated from Largo High School in 1967. He died on May 19, 2017 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, FL.

Mr. Poole started working for Publix Supermarket while still in high school and, with the exception of his time of service in the U.S. Army, stayed with them for 38 years. He was a Manager in the meat department when he retired. Ralph began his second career with Publix in 2012. He was working as Assistant Manager of the meat market when he became ill. During his time of employment with Publix he worked in a number of stores throughout Pinellas County.

Mr. Poole was a member of Friendship UMC. He was also very active in a number of local organizations, including Clearwater Jazz Holiday and the Humane Society of Pinellas County.. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was a quiet man, kind and caring and will be missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his father, Ira Franklin Poole, Sr and mother, Ruby Luverne Thomas Poole. He is survived by his girlfriend, Leslie Patterson of Clearwater, FL; sister, Rosemary Relyea and husband Chip of Largo, FL; brother, Roy Wilson and wife Sandie of Dunedin, FL; sister Ruby Seibold and husband Wayne of Jacksonville, FL; brother Franklin Poole and wife, Mary of Altha, FL; daughter Shannon Maltese and husband, Dave of Jacksonville; two precious grandchildren; a maternal aunt, Faye Smith of Riceville, TN'; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Sylvan Abbey United Methodist Church located at 2817 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL.with Rev. Chuck Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
