Richard Paul Nickel, 85 of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home. He was born in Olean, New York, on June 24, 1931, to Paul and Jeanette Nickel and lived there until 1977 when he relocated to Largo, Florida. In his spare time he loved to watch sports, do woodworking, read and listen to music. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beverly Sage Nickel, four daughters, Nancy Clements (Palm Harbor), Deborah Peterson (Syracuse), Elaine Nickel (San Diego), and Barbara (Cory) Reed (Safety Harbor). He also has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as a loving sister, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral will be 11am Friday Feb 10th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1955 S. Belcher Rd. Clearwater, Fl. 33764. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday Feb 9th at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd. Largo, Florida 33774. Burial will be in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo. www.sylvanabbey.com
