He was born on December 28, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa to the late Dolores and Ted Smith.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He has been a highly successful business owner and leader in the Homebuilding Industry since 1971. Most recently, he was an owner with his son, Marcus, of Smith Custom Homes.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marlene Marie Smith; children, Scott (Wendy) Smith, Marcus (Deana) Smith, Miriam Finley; sister, Joyce (Duane) Johnson; grandchildren, Mason Smith, Brady Smith, Tyler Smith, Mason Wiley, Austin Smith, Noah Finley, Peyton Finley, Kayla Smith; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Gayle Smith, and son-in-law Tony Finley.
A celebration of life for Ron will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Countryside Christian Church, 1850 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
