

November 4th, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years; Trina and their daughter; Kristina.
Born May 27th, 1949 in Madison, WVA to Edgar Troy and Dorothy Hager. He is survived his wife
Trina Marie, his daughter; Kristina Marie, 3 brothers; Phillip Michael Hager(Vivian) of Tampa,
Stephen Mark Hager (Caren), and Brian Daniel Gramley (Susan) of Homestead, FL, sister-in-law;
Sonja Kay Kelley, sister-in-law; Patricia Ann Rodriguez (Richard) of Tampa, 5 nephews, 5 nieces, 2
great-nephews, 1 great-niece, and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles. He was deeply loved and
admired by his family and friends.
Ted was the Broker/Owner of TeamHager Commercial Real Estate in Tampa, and in the real
estate business since 1974. He is an alumnus of the University of Florida in Gainesville earning
his Masters in Environmental and Electrical Engineering, where he played football for the Florida
Gators as a Wide Receiver #44 nicknamed "Road Runner". Ted was an incredible athlete and
scholar, and continued to play sports long after he graduated in 1971 from UF. He enjoyed golf,
basketball, softball, and the annual Turkey Bowl played by UF graduates vs. alumni from the
University of Tampa. His all-time favorite team was of course the Gators, but he was also a huge
fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Boston Celtics.
Ted accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and attended Idlewild Baptist Church
in Lutz, FL with his wife and daughter. Throughout his faith, Ted served faithfully to many
fellowship groups and Bible study groups, as well as,a member of the building committee
overseeing the construction of a church's new sanctuary. He was a member of Promise Keepers
and one of the leaders of Family Life. A volunteer serving in several capacities including the
Judaea Christian Clinic and his life's passion with the Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center.
Ted had a generous, humble heart and was always giving to his family and others in need. He
never knew a stranger and was very personable. To know Ted was to love him. He will always
be remembered for all the laughter he brought into the lives of his family. Ted was an avid
history buff, loved reading, listening to gospel and contemporary Christian music, and working
outdoors. Of all of his accomplishments and many attributes, he was most proud of being a
father to his miracle child, Kristina Marie, who he lovingly called "Nina Baby". She was his whole
world and always will be.
There will be a visitation held for Ted at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home (2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater) on Saturday, November 12 at 12:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 1:00 pm and a graveside service to follow.
