Wayne Robert Gifford, 78, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away January 29, 2025. Born in Florida and raised in the Pinellas and Pasco County areas, Wayne was born on April 15, 1946 to parents Gordon Gifford and Ruth Simpson.
After high school, Wayne made the brave decision to serve our country and join the Army as a rifle sharpshooter and was also a medical assistant at the hospital. He aided many of his fellow servicemen coming home from the Vietnam war.
He married the love of his life Cynthia Gifford on July 4th, 1970. Together they raised their two children Randahl and Crystal.
Wayne was a hard and dedicated worker; he worked as a produce manager at Publix Supermarket for over 18 years and a utility worker at Pasco County Utilities for over 20 years.
When Wayne was not working, he loved being out on the water fishing, watching a Kansas City Chiefs Football game, but most of all he loved spending quality time with his family.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Gifford of Tennessee, children Randahl Gifford of Florida and Crystal Brown of Tennessee, grandchildren Anthony Gifford of California, Ashley Gifford of Florida, Nick Gifford of Florida, and Aiden Brown of Tennessee. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home Friday February 28, 2025 at 12:00pm, with a celebration of life service to be held at 1:00pm, and a graveside service to follow afterwards at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wayne’s memory to the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
