He was born in Ohio and raised by his mother, Marguerite, and his step father, John Nicolaysen. Alfred proudly served his country in the Navy. He worked as a lepidopterist and loved all creatures. Alfred spent his free time with his butterflies, animals, and in his garden.
Alfred is survived by his children, Kimberly Parke-Kjeldgard, Nicki Parke, and Juan Parke; grandchildren, Cory Kjeldgard, Matthew Kjeldgard, and Dean Parke; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Kjeldgard; brother, John Nicolaysen; and many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd, on Saturday, February 6th at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local animal shelter.
