Billy Sprinkle Edwards

Billy “Pa Pa” Sprinkle Edwards, 81, went to be with the Lord at Forsyth Medical Center on October 20, 2011. Mr. Edwards was born May 25, 1930 and grew up in Forsyth County. Billy graduated from Hanes High School in 1948. He worked at Sealtest for many years before joining Hugh Pfaff Poultry Company in Tobaccoville. There he served as vice-president and president until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the local board of directors at First Citizens Bank and Trust. He was a devoted and loved member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Madison Edwards and Stella Viola Sprinkle Edwards. He is survived by his wife Peggy Pfaff Edwards of Pfafftown; son Michael H. Edwards (Melba); daughters Lynn E. Lyons (Jimmy); and Sherri E. Jackson (Jeff). “Pa Pa” had a special relationship with his grandchildren Traci Holden-Bache (Chad), Laura Johns (Jay), Kristen Edwards, Justi Cernak (Derek), Jeremy Edwards (Lori), and Corey Jackson (Samantha). He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren Savannah, Skylar, Sayge, Hunter Holden-Bache, Dakota, Canton Cernak, Zoey Johns; and a special young man Nicholas Hansen. Also surviving are a loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lonnie and Shirley Ring; nieces Bonitia Cleary and Jeanna Lauffenburger. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Deval Mason and Dr. Pete Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
