

Bynum was born in the Mt. Tabor area and spent his entire life within sight of where he was born. He loved the Mt. Tabor Community and Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where he was a lifelong member.
He was a great source for historical and genealogical information for this community and The Reynolda House and grounds, as he spent many days as a young boy growing up knowing the Reynolds children. His knowledge of the Reynolds family was helpful to two different authors of the Reynolds family.
He was a member of The Greyhound Retired Employees Club, The Brotherhood of Teamsters and he was a lifetime member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans.
He was one of the original members of the Mt. Tabor Volunteer Fire Department.
His dedication to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church gave him the opportunity to serve in almost every way except to preach, he liked to say.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 53 years Lois Nadina Speas,
two sisters, Louise Cutrell and Doris Holloman.
He is survived by his devoted daughter Janet Rhyne and husband Don, and his only grandchild Kristin Rhyne, He is also survived by his daughter Brenda McLain and husband Bob and daughter Susan McCarthy. He is also survived by his Sister Imogene Cutrell, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special friend , Frances Young who was adopted into his family.
Visitation will be March 14 from 6 to 8 pm, Funeral service will be Friday March 15 at 1:00. Both visitation and funeral service will be at Voglers on Reynolda Rd. Burial will be at Forsyth Memorial Park following the service.
