

Carol Thompson, 76, of Tobaccoville, NC passed away March 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ossie Burris Wright of Cripple Creek, VA; brother, Pierce Wright of Elliston, VA; and sister, Evon Fisher of Crockett, VA.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Thompson; son, Michael Lee Thompson; daughter, Merinda Carol Thompson, all of Tobaccoville, NC; six sisters, Helen Frye of Cripple Creek and Wytheville, VA; Rosetta Morrison of Mt. Airy, NC; Wanda June Blankenship of Ridgeway, VA; Pauline “Paula” Moore of Wytheville,VA; twin sister, Iris Moore of Pulaski, VA; Rita Morrison of Pilot Mountain, NC; brother, Beauford Wright of Pulaski, VA; five brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
At the age of 10, in Cripple Creek, Carol and her twin sister, Iris, gave their lives to Christ.
For over 50 years she sang in a trio with her sisters, known as The Wright Sisters, performing at various churches and events.
Carol was a long-time member and active in many aspects of Oak Summit United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She played the piano and sang in the choir.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 11:00 am, at Oak Summit United Methodist Church.
