Carolyn, Rudy, Carrie and Judy were our neighbors in California for many, many years of my childhood. I have fond memories with Carrie and remember Carolyn’s wonderful humor and fun spirit. She will be missed and never forgotten. Love, Cyndi Haensli (Brooks)

I met Carolyn in 2010 when I began a position as a faculty secretary at the Wake Forest University School of Law. We shared Suite 3340 with two other women. Carolyn was such a joy to be around and was quite comical at times. She was so kind and often baked goodies for the law faculty. Your family are all in my thoughts and prayers. Peace be with you, Carolyn. Rest in peace.

I got to meet Carolyn in Des Moines and loved how she could make instant friends, make everything fun, and talk about anything. It was obvious right away how much she valued people and human connection. Carolyn reminds me to enjoy relationships and casual fun daily.  Carolyn Beck Marshburn will be missed by many.

I got to hang out with Granny back in March. She was so tickled when Nick and I took her out for the afternoon. We sat outside and she was telling insane stories, and I was snorting laughing. Love you Gran.

Ms. Carol was one of the warmest and kindest human beings I have ever met.  My wife and I had the good fortune to have her as our neighbor in Clemmons for a few years.   Our daughter, Julia, was born while we were still neighbors and when Julia began exploring more she would often go to Ms. Carol's front porch to play.  Rather than becoming upset that a toddler was disturbing her peace and quite, Ms. Carol, without fail, ever single day would put small toys for Julia to play with on the porch.  When her health allowed, she would come outside and play with Julia.  Because that is the just the kind of person she was.  Kind, generous, and loving.  We are so glad that our paths crossed in this life Ms. Carol and we love you very much.
