Christine "Tillie" (Holcombe) Adams

She was born on October 9, 1918 to Thomas Bunyan and Irene Mae Holcombe, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Lib, Tommy, and Leola. Surviving are her daughter, Karen Rutherford; granddaughter, Mavis Beasley; great grandchildren, Taylor Beasley and Devin Bennett; her niece, Kay Roland; and extended family of Virginia Beach. Carol Leach, Janey House, and Chrissy Youth are Tillie’s other daughters bound by love.

Tillie worked at Integon for more than 40 years and adored her boss, Skip Tussey, and his wife, Ginny. She and her best friend, Katherine Davis were volunteers at Senior Services. She loved the work and her family of friends there. She also enjoyed working in the garden and tending her precious tomato plants.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Moses Cone Hospital and the Hospice Home of Alamance County for their love, caring, and kindness.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 17th at 11:30am at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Rd. Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Senior Services of Winston Salem, 2895 Shorefair Dr, Winston Salem, NC 27105.
