Edward V. Sayers Jr.

Edward V. Sayers, Jr., 77, of Lewisville, NC died peacefully with his family at his side on September 14, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward V. Sayers, Sr. and Hazel Root Sayers. Immediate survivors are his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy of the home; sons Gregory Sayers and wife Jerri and their son Will of Lewisville, NC; Jeffery Sayers of Lewisville, NC; daughters Laurna Worden and husband Steve and their children Kaitlin and Christopher of Guilford, CT; Lynda Hamilton and husband Timothy and their children Reilly and Sadie of Colfax, NC; sister Patricia Brown and her husband Ed and their children Michael, Raymond, and Thomas of Unionville, CT.

Eddie was born on May 30, 1934 in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve. Eddie was a trusted friend and advisor to many during his life. He enjoyed classical music, was an avid pilot, successful businessman and owner, and was a dedicated Duke Blue Devil basketball fan. Eddie was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. He will also be especially missed by dear friends Dr. John Gilliam and his wife Liz as well as many caring friends at the Lewisville Library.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Reynolda Road Chapel, Winston- Salem, NC. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
