Gail Rush Sellers, 85, of Clemmons, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Trinity Elms Skilled Nursing Care after a long-term illness. Born on December 6, 1939, in Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dallas Rush and Pauline Whittemore Rush. Gail was a graduate of Walter Williams High School in Burlington. She first worked at Western Electric in Burlington and then moved to Florida and then Texas where she continued to work in the telecommunications industry. On her retirement from Verizon, she moved to Clemmons, NC in 2000 to be closer to her beloved sister Vicki. She was an active member of Clemmons Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Ruth Circle Fellowship Committee, and oversaw the annual Giving Tree to provide Christmas support to local families.
Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dallas Rush, and is survived by her sister, Vicki Rush Howie; nieces Lynn Howie and Olivia Suzanne Moore; and her great niece and nephew, Caroline and Hayden Moore.
The family will have a private graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC 27012, to the Gail Sellers Giving Tree.
