Helen Lousie Childress

Helen Nicholson Childress , 89, died peacefully at Forsyth Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was born March 25, 1926 to Rufus L. Nicholson and Allie Longworth Nicholson. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 of her 8 children, Shelby Childress, Stephen Childress and Tammy Childress-Beard. Surviving are her 5 remaining children, Mickey Childress, Patricia Childress-Dull, Ronnie Childress, Mary Childress, and Ken Childress, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her siblings, Ruby Easter, Eddie Nicholson, Peggy Thomas, Glenda Elles, and many other family members. There will be a private family graveside service on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 3pm at New Hope United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church, 5125 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or to The Children’s Home, 1001 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
