Michael loved being outdoors. He was an archer and shooter as well as having a deep love of hunting and fishing. He even worked some on the side building and repairing rods and reels. In his free time, Michael would pay meticulous detail to his garden. He was an avid gardener, growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs. He and his significant other, Sherrie, would work together to preserve and can everything from their bountiful harvest each year.

Michael met Sherrie Beshears in his mid-thirties. Along with their gardening, the two would travel and dance together. They loved their time Shag dancing together, one of the few occasions where you would catch a huge grin on Michael’s face.

In addition to Sherrie, his partner over 33 years, Michael leaves behind his daughter, Mandy Bolt (John Edwards); stepchildren, Crystal Jagels, Brent Dunbar, and Carrie Baskin; grandson, Gage Baskin; and numerous close friends and loved ones.
