Joanne Frances Loftin Link Light

Born on April 9, 1953 to the late Robert and Frances Loftin, Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Loftin, and her husband of twenty-five years, Michael W. Link.

Joanne leaves behind her husband of fourteen years, Lyle T. Light; children, Justin Link (Heather) and Megan Southern (Kyle); grandchildren, Bodhi, Ty, and Lane Southern, Kysen Link and Amya Adams; stepchildren, Jenny Higbee (Justin), Andrew Light (Sarah), and Daniel Light (Connie); additional grandchildren, Addison and Bryce Higbee, Ryan and Caroline Light, Bradley and Jessica Huffman; her brother, Bobby Don Loftin (Judy); many cherished nieces and nephews; her Ya-Ya sisterhood; and special friend, Karen Spangler.

Joanne graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1971 and then went on to Lees-McRae College, graduating in 1973. Joanne then was devoted to her position with Novant Health for forty years, where she established many lifelong friendships.

She held a passion for music, dancing, nature, her family, and her friends. She will be remembered by her warm heart, generous spirit, and her light that filled the world.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28th, at Friedburg Moravian Church at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. The family extends their deepest thanks for the love and support.
