Margaret Ellen Kozlowski

Margaret Ellen Kozlowski passed from this life at Brookridge Health Care Thursday evening, January 29th and went home to be with the Lord. She was born in Raleigh, NC in 1922 to John A Stallings and Lallah M Cable Stallings. She attended nursing school at Watts Hospital in Durham NC where she met and married Stanley J Kozlowski who was serving with the US Army in World War II. After the war they moved to Chicago IL where she worked as an auditor, and upon retirement returned to live in Winston-Salem and enjoyed traveling abroad.

She attended Ardmore Baptist Church while growing up and resumed attending church there when she returned to Winston-Salem. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and brothers JB, George, and Norman. She is survived by son Johnny and his wife Shirley. Also surviving are two grandsons, Mitchell Kozlowski and Matthew Kozlowski, Matthew’s wife Sandra, and great grandchildren Sierra, Daniel, Britton, Brayden. Also surviving are her sister Martha Martin and husband Charles, neice Marlene and nephew Steve.

The viewing will be 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday and the funeral at 1:00 pm Thursday at Vogler & Sons Chapel on Reynolda Road, to be followed by burial at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5507, Winston-Salem, NC 27113; the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1205, Winston-Salem, NC 27102-1205; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
