Mr. Paul Edgar Rose, Jr., 82 died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, November 9, 2014.
Paul was born in Huron, South Dakota on May 8, 1932, a son to the late, Paul Edgar Rose, Sr. and the late, Zelda Grace Rose. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor Carson Rose.
Not only was he a veteran of the US Navy, but Paul was also employed with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for 30 plus years of service prior to retiring. After retirement Paul enjoyed sitting in his recliner with his overalls on, his cat Honey on his lap, and a good mystery novel in his hands. Throughout his life he enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, drag cars, motors, motorcycles, boats, small planes, as well as flying as a recreational pilot. Paul was a "Man’s Man", who saw no grey areas, and was a loving, dedicated, and generous father, grandfather, father in law, and friend.
Paul is survived by a daughter, Julianne Rose Hays, her husband, Robert Scott Hays of Clemmons NC, and granddaughter, Allison Hays; a son, William Paul Rose of Little Rock, AK; sister in law, Maureen Carson of Clemmons; and two special lifelong friends, Cliff Williamson and Ray Beninga.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
