Raymond Keith Hiatt

Raymond Keith Hiatt, 96, of 201 Bastogne Lane, Mount, Airy, N.C. went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2014. Mr. Hiatt returned to Mount Airy four years ago after living in Tucson, Arizona for 34 years.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army Air Corps.

He was born August 14, 1917 in Surry County, the son of Ashby and Maud Ella Belton Hiatt.

He is survived by three sisters, Marie Johnson, Doris Vernon, and Joan Gammons of Mount Airy; brother, George W. Hiatt of Collierville, Tennessee; and Great niece and nephew and special caregivers with whom he lived, Paige & Michael Cartledge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Hiatt; and five brothers, Bobby Lee Hiatt, Arlyss Hiatt, Arnold Hiatt, Royst Hiatt, and Edsel R. Hiatt.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm, at the Shelton Church of the Brethren. Friends may pay their respects, at the church, one hour prior to the service.
