Mr. Richard Lee Lowe went into the more immediate presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday December 20, 2018. Mr. Lowe was born on September 19, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Mary and Fred Lowe. After graduating from Carver High School, Mr. Lowe enlisted in the US Army. He served in the Korean War and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army of Occupation Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal. Richard retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1993. In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling in a league at Northside Lanes and competed in tournaments across the nation. He enjoyed daily breakfast and fellowship with his friends at K&W until his health declined. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hilda Gray and Joyce Ann. He is survived by his wife Barbara and children Ron (Mei), Julie (Gary), Karen, David, Michael (Patricia) and grandchildren Christina, Mike Jr., Kevin, Caroline, Sarah and Nick. Two great grandchildren, his brother William (Constance) and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday December 23rd at 2pm with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Vogler’s in Clemmons with the Rev. Dr. Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will be at a later date with the Rt. Rev. Graham Rights to officiate.
