

He was born March 31, 1928 in Berwyn, IL, the son of Vernon and Irma Concannon Miller. He graduated from The Abbey School in Canon City, Colorado in 1947, and enlisted in the Air Force, eventually becoming an Instructor Weapons Controller. On the job, he was known for his professionalism and hard work, and he had a great sense of humor. He was devoted to his family and he enjoyed traveling, fishing, yard work, and old movies. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago White Sox. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Miller and several siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Van Cauwenbergh Miller; a daughter Melissa Hudson and her husband, Jeff of Clemmons; a son, Maj. Gen. Stephen J. Miller USAF (ret.) and his wife Teresa of Annapolis, MD; two sisters, Janet Blazek of Lady Lake, FL and Beverly Novy of Glen Ellen, IL; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller of Arlington, VA, Michael Miller of New York, NY, Kathryn Miller of Orlando, FL, Alexander Hudson of Clemmons, Andrew Hudson of Clemmons, Petty Officer Second Class Christopher Miller of Honolulu, HI and Senior Seaman Hannah Miller of Augusta, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 13th in the chapel of Vogler and Sons, Clemmons Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service.
