Spencer was a beautiful soul full of love, kindness, and compassion for everyone. He was a talented, but all too humble, musician and artist, who loved the horror genre, animatronics, graphic novels, and all things Halloween. Spencer was an animal lover, but there was a special place in his heart for cats. He had an eclectic taste in music–from John Denver and Elliott Smith to Cannibal Corpse, to Creed, Tool, and Bush, to The Beatles and The Doors…but never the Velvet Underground. Growing up, he spent time in Mocksville and the Raleigh area. He loved riding bikes, skateboarding, and spending time with his brothers, sisters, and friends. While he’d fumble telling a straightforward joke, his witty remarks and storytelling could leave a room in hysterics. He had aspirations of becoming a blacksmith, tattoo artist, and video game developer, but had recently realized his dream of becoming a substance abuse counselor. Spencer was the guy to give you the shirt off his back, to check in on you if you were having a hard time, to stick up for you when no one will, and put his needs aside for others because that was purely his nature. He will be greatly missed, but his light will shine on through those who love him.
