

Mr. Stacy Norman Kirkman, 86, passed away October 1, 2010 at Wake Forest University Medical Center. He was born in Guilford County to Clark Harrison Kirkman and Cora John Kirkman. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, C.H. Kirkman, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Frances Kiger Kirkman, son, Roger N. Kirkman (Connie), daughter Alice Kunka (Bob), grandchildren, Ben Kunka (Jennifer), Emily Kunka, stepchildren Karen Vinton (Roger), Kelly Kiger (Christina), Katherine Kiger, Cindy Beaver, and other grandchildren. Stacy was one of the Kirkman triplets and his triplet sisters Mary Routh (Charles) and Marian Murchison survive him.
Stacy graduated from Pleasant Garden High School as valedictorian, attended Guilford College and received his degree in electrical engineering from N.C. State. He introduced many innovative ideas in electronics technology to customers in Virginia and the Carolinas. In 1959, he founded a new venture in electronics distribution through Kirkman Electronics, Inc., which served business and industry throughout the Southeast until the mid-1990’s. He served in the Army Air Corps and trained on B-17s and B-24s, serving as flight engineer on B-29s during World War II. Stacy is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem.
Visitation will be at Vogler Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 on Monday, October 4 at 1 pm, followed by a memorial service in the Vogler chapel on Monday, October 4 at 2:30 pm. The service will be conducted by Dr. Russ Ritchel and Dr. Alice Kirkman Kunka. The service of interment will be on Friday, October 8 at 2 pm at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5601 Liberty Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.
